About the Ranch

ABOUT The ranch

Our operation is comprised of 3 full ranches, and quite a few smaller pastures. There is the Three Points Ranch, Agua Dulce Ranch, and the Desert Ranch.

The Three Points Ranch is located west of Three Points, AZ and is nestled in the Roskruge Mountains and borders the Tohono O’odham Reservation. Martina Mountain sits on the ranch and rises to above 4,000 feet. This is the highest in elevation of the 3 ranches and is the most southern ranch. The country is great for cow/calf pairs and has a diverse landscape ranging from flatlands, large washes, to rolling hills and mountains. It has an abundance of grasses and browse for the cattle to eat. The wildlife includes mule deer, whitetail deer. mountain lions and an abundance of smaller animals including desert tortoises.

The Agua Dulce Ranch sits in the middle of the 3 ranches, and is the largest. The Dos Tito’s Peak is right at the center of the ranch and the focal point from many miles away. Dos Tito’s Peak is in the Roskruge Mountains which are on the south side of the ranch, and the Waterman Mountains are on the north side of the ranch. The terrain is much more mountainous and rocky, with a few flatter areas. The mountains produce an abundance of grasses that are nutrient dense. There are thousands upon thousands of saguaro cactus as well as many other varieties of cactus and other native plants and trees. One of the most important trees is the Ironwood Tree. Ironwood’s are a wonderful source of feed for the cattle, as well as other wildlife. This tree provides great shade as well. Part of this ranch is in the Ironwood National Monument. This ranch also boasts an 80 year old ranch house and has working corrals. We just finished an extensive water project that now brings water to the south end of the ranch that has never had water before. The 6 mile pipeline includes 7 water storage tanks and 8 water troughs that not only water our cattle, but the abundance of wildlife as well. While most of the wildlife is the same as the other 2 ranches, the Agua Dulce also boasts a large population of Desert Bighorn Sheep.

The Desert Ranch is at the north end of the 3 ranches and is the lowest in elevation. It is mostly flat, open desert with some rolling hills. This ranch is fantastic for winter annuals, meaning the feed is the best in the winter season. Pat, the owner, has owned this ranch the longest at over 30 years. Currently we keep our Brahma herd on this ranch as they utilize the desert feed the best and are the most drought tolerant. In the winter, we also put our replacement heifers out on part of it when the feed is at its very best.
